Nine West: feeling 'cagey'

Nine West stores are having a fab-u-loussss sale right now on summer stock with a whole swag on offer for $50 instore. There's flats, sandals, wedges, peeptoes all on offer cheap cheap cheap! Ofcourse the three that I have fallen in love with aren't in the bargain bin [sad face] however they're too lovely to not get a mention.

Caged Heels started appearing in lines in 08/09 post the gladiator heel obsession and have still been going strong this summer... which is fab because I'm still a massive fan!

WHY WE LOVE THEM

The casual airiness of a sandal teamed with the formal shape with 'a lil more up top' makes these dressy enough for a night out on the town but still perfect to wear out and about during the day. The fact they look super cute with a short frock or tucked under a pair of skinny jeans also means extra points!

IN THESE SHOES I'D...

V Day - Are you feeling the love?

Ok... so as a single 20-something (late 20-something) I may have had a few 'Valentines Day Grinchess' moments today. These moments MAY have occurred as a result of visiting my friends espresso bar which is across the road from a cute little florist ie. marvellous vantage point to see the hundreds of men walking out with their bunches of perky roses and a loved-up smile to match as they took them home to surprise their girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/spoilt dog etc. However, as I sat around at dinner that night with two fabulous girlfriends and laughed until I very nearly a white wine out the nose moment I thought it was a pretty smashing way to spend ones V Day evening.

To top off my fabulous little 2011 Valentines celebrations I'm also considering treating myself to a little pressie - check these babies out!

WHY WE LOVE IT
I'm sorry.... are these not the cutest things you've ever seen????? These 'shoe clips' are simply that - a gorgeous little clip that you can pop onto any shoe (or other item of clothing for that matter ie. pockets, hot, cute little black puffy sleeved blazer). They're from the LA based Ban.Do for $25 USD and there's other cute designs available. Check out their online shop at http://www.shopbando.com/ and sign up to their mailing list to receive 15% off your first order!

WHAT WE'D WEAR IT WITH
I'm leaning towards getting the red love hearts when they're back in stock and they are most definitely calling out to take a ride on candy pink almond toe pumps, with black opaque stockings for extra impact and a sweet lil pink clutch to match.

IN THESE SHOES I'D...
...wear them on a summery Valentines Day evening, on a date with Prince William... ooh sorry Kate you can have him back tomorrow, where we'd see John Paul Young sing an 80's love song in the park ala http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNC0kIzM1Fo maybe squeeze in some kind of horse/carriage ride (isn't that what royal folk do?) and then have an ice cream!

Old McDonald had a Louis Vuitton?

Across the other side of the globe the fashion elite are wrapping themselves in all sorts of fabulousness and taking their seats at all the big name shows during NY Fashion Week. Since our modest little blog is launching in the middle of this auspicious event, we thought it fitting that our first shoe feature be picked straight off the freshly walked runway.

Cue the new 'animal inspired' line from Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton - Spring 2011 Collection

WHY WE LOVE IT
Deers, Zebras, Flamingoesque birds... nature provides the beauty and inspiration for many an artist or fashion designer so this journey into the animal kingdom shouldn't come as a suprise, but with the transformation of a stiletto heel into an intricate, delicate yet wild horselike leg - suprising it is!

WHAT WE'D WEAR IT WITH
I'd rock the colourful zebra inspired heels with a bright orange mini dress, gold oversized drop earrings so big they'd possibly take out a passerby if I swung around too fast, and an updo.

Now because this is the first feature post perhaps I should explain this last bit... while the above is actually all about the shoes... this last bit of the regular posts is 'a little bit silly'. If you're open to reading ridiculous little scenarios, dreamt up by a lass with a severe overactive imagination then tune into the 'in these shoes I'd' part of the our regular posts for a giggle.

IN THESE SHOES I'D...
...continuing in the 'animal love' theme, while drinking a 'rainforest alliance' friendly coffee out of a 110% recylced paper cup, I'd don my best black stealth outfit and join the PETA folk in a local protest... might even stop to throw coloured paint at a celeb (think Samantha Jones, SATC Movie #1). The day could also possibly include a trip to the zoo to compare the likeness of the shoes to the real deal. Why not I say!

First Post

Oooh it's the first post. Can you feel the pressure? Blog enthusiasts around the world trolling through the blogger database, scouring the latest offerings, millions of sets of eyes looking, reading, critiquing.... but not on my new little blog with a readership of probably 3 (which includes my best friends and my cat Oliver) a safe, pretty wee home to my ramblings for today.

And we're off....
